Railway Minister Piyush Goyal says India will overtake China in relation with Bangladesh

Piyush Goyal has expressed confidence that India will later overtake China in terms of relations with Bangladesh. PM Modi is currently on a visit to Bangladesh and in the meantime, this statement has come out. Goyal said on Friday that this would be a 'record year' in terms of foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows into India despite the epidemic.


Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has shown trust that India will overtake China in the future in terms of relations with Bangladesh. Goyal gives the statement at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Bangladesh. On Friday, Prime Minister Modi left for a two-day visit to Bangladesh. During his visit, Modi will take part in various programs to strengthen the mutual relations among the two countries.

Directing the Times Network's India Economic Conference, Goyal said on Friday that despite the epidemic, it would be a 'record year' in terms of foreign direct investment (FDI) inflow into India. Simultaneously, international data reveals that there will be a significant decline in foreign investment worldwide in the upcoming months.

He said that India has been an exceptional country in terms of FDI increase in 2020. He said that there is no confusion that this record will be FDI. Asked about India's relationship with its neighbor compared to Bangladesh-China relations, he said that we are trying to evolve stronger relations with all our neighbors. He said “I am certain that India will leave China behind in the future in relation with Bangladesh.”
