Rain and thunderstorm in parts of Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh: IMD

IMD predicts Rain and thunderstorm in parts of Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.It said that light to moderate intensity of rain in isolated parts of these places.


On Monday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain in isolated parts of Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. According to the tweet by IMD, "Thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain in isolated places of Southwest Delhi, Farukhnagar, Bhiwani, Charkhi -Dadri, Bhiwadi a, Jhajjar(Haryana) and adjoining areas during the next two hours". Whereas it also tweeted that, "prevailing meteorological conditions, large scale atmospheric features and the favourable conditions are likely to develop for further advance of southwest monsoon into remaining parts of Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and Punjab during next 4-5 days."It also added that, due to this reason, subdued rainfall activity is very likely to continue over the northwest, Central and western parts of Peninsular India during the next 4 -5 days.

M.Rajeevan, Secretary of Ministry of Earth Sciences said that, "after a break, the southwest monsoon is again to enter an active phase, while noting that forecast models show signs of increasing rain activity from July 8." further he also tweeted that, "Models also make an early indication of the formation of a weather system over BoB by 12th and subsequent active monsoon phase."

 

Meanwhile, the Met Department has also revealed that the northern limit of the southwest monsoon(NLM) is currently passing through Aligarh, Meerut, Ambala and Amritsar.
