Rain Forecast In Delhi For Next 3 Days

Waterlogged in several areas!


The national capital and the NCR region are supposed to witness heavy rain for the next three consecutive days. Delhi's maximum temperature is likely to remain below 34 degrees for next 6 days.

Rainfall in Delhi is likely to pick up from Thursday, with the MeT office forecasting moderate rain or thundershowers in the city over the next three days.


According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon trough is likely to "continue to shift gradually northwards", leading to an increase in rainfall activity over north India from Wednesday.


The Safdarjung Observatory, Delhi's primary weather station, has recorded 232.8 mm of rainfall so far in July against a normal of 183.3 mm.


The observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 26.7 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. The maximum temperature settled at 34.6 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year.


Not only Delhi, Rajasthan will also witness heavy rain like situation in the state. The weather bureau said the maximum temperature is likely to remain below 34 degrees Celsius for the next six days.


A meteorological department official said, at present, there is a circulation system over eastern Rajasthan, which will have its effect in the districts of Ajmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur divisions for the next 48 hours.



From July 28-29, there is a possibility of a gradual decrease in monsoon activities in some parts of the state, MeT centre director Radheyshyam Sharma said. The trains that were cancelled due to inundation of railway tracks were Jodhpur-Jaisalmer, Jaisalmer-Jodhpur, Jodhpur-Bhopal, Bhopal-Jodhpur, Jodhpur-Barmer, Jodhpur-Hisar and Hisar-Bikaner trains, a NWR spokesperson said.
