Rain in Delhi resulted in waterlogging and closure of an underpass

The traffic police tweeted that the Azad market underpass has been closed and that traffic has been affected by the Moolchand underpass.


The National Capital witnessed rain and thunderstorms in several parts of the city which resulted in traffic, waterlogging and closure of underpasses in a few areas.

According to the traffic police, it said that waterlogging has been reported in several areas in the national capital amid heavy rains as they caused commuters to avoid these stretches. The traffic police said that waterlogging has been reported in areas such as Minto Bridge, Azad Market, Pul Pahladpur and Moolchand underpasses. The traffic police tweeted that the Azad market underpass has been closed and that traffic has been affected by the Moolchand underpass.

On Saturday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, the national capital will witness a "generally cloudy sky with moderate rain/thundershowers" during the day. It also said that "Thunderstorms with moderate to heavy intensity rain most likely to continue over many parts of Delhi and adjoining areas during next 2 hours."

.The national capital has been witnessing rain since Friday night, bringing some relief in the temperatures, whereas today the national capital witnessed waterlogging in a few areas which disturbed the traffic in the city.
