Rain lashes In Parts Of Delhi, AQI Slips "Very Poor"

Trains Delayed and Cancelled!


The National capital is witnessing a bone-chilling cold. Parts of Delhi experiences "Cold weather day" a layer of fog is also seen in the Capital city which leads to hazy surroundings.


As per the information, the Minimum temperature at the Safdarjung observatory, which provides data for the city, settled at 7.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. The maximum stood at 18.1 degrees Celsius, two notches more than normal.


According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), it said, Delhi's temperature is likely to rise 13 degrees Celsius by Saturday due to cold weather under the influence of a fresh western disturbance widespread rainfall is likely to take place in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh, and North Rajasthan from January 21.


According to the system of Air Quality and weather forecasting and Research (SAFAR), The Air Quality Index (AQI) of the National capital touched a very poor category and stood at 322.

 

As per the government data, The Air Quality Index (AQI) between zero-50 is good, 51-100 is satisfactory,101-200 is moderate,201-300 is poor,301-400 is very poor and 401 to 500 is severe. 


With prevailing bad weather conditions around 13 trains have been delayed and 22 were cancelled due to blurry weather conditions which result in fog-like scenarios. 

 

According to ANI, "About 13 trains are running late for today, including Howrah New Delhi express, Puri New Delhi express, Gorakhpur New Delhi express, Mumbai New Delhi express, Kanpur New Delhi express", CPRO Northern railways told ANI.
