Raj Kundra, Ryan Thorpe sent to police custody till Tuesday

A case was registered against Mr Kundra on February 4 for allegedly creating pornographic films and streaming them through some apps.


Businessman and husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra and his aide as well as IT head Ryan Thorpe have been sent to police custody till Tuesday. The two were arrested on Monday in connection with an alleged pornographic case and were produced before a magistrate's court in Mumbai by the police on Friday.

The Mumbai Police told the court that they suspect the money earned from pornography was used for online betting and for this reason they need to investigate the transactions between the accounts of Raj Kundra's Yes Bank and United Bank of Africa, reported HT. The officials said in the court they have seized a massive cache of around 4 TB of images and videos that were mostly of adult content, according to NDTV and a total of 51 alleged obscene clips have also been confiscated. Reportedly, police are investigating if the content was uploaded on the internet.

Mr Kundra was arrested in a case for allegedly creating pornographic films and publishing them through some apps. A case was registered against him with the Crime Branch of Mumbai on February 4. According to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Maharashtra, it has received four emails which show that Mr Kundra allegedly bribed Mumbai Police officials with Rs 25 lakh to elude arrest, reported HT.
