Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' Crosses ₹313 Crores in India in 6 Days

Box Office Success Continues..

Ranbir Kapoor's film "Animal," directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for "Kabir Singh," has surpassed the ₹500 crore milestone globally within six days of its release. According to preliminary estimates on Sacnilk.com, the movie earned an additional ₹30 crore in domestic collections on Wednesday, bringing its total in India to ₹312.96 crore.

As per the report, on Wednesday, "Animal" recorded a 34.88% Hindi occupancy, 25.67% Telugu occupancy, and 18.95% Tamil occupancy. The film debuted in theaters on December 1, sharing the release date with Vicky Kaushal's "Sam Bahadur." Following a substantial ₹63.8 crore opening in India, "Animal" achieved an extraordinary ₹71.46 crore on its inaugural Sunday.

"Animal" has the potential to become Ranbir Kapoor's highest-grossing film to date. However, it still needs to surpass "Sanju," where Ranbir portrayed Sanjay Dutt. Currently, "Sanju," directed by Rajkumar Hirani, holds the record with a worldwide gross collection of ₹586.85 crore.

"Animal" has faced criticism for its depiction of extreme violence and has been accused of glorifying misogyny. The storyline revolves around a tumultuous father-son relationship between Anil Kapoor's Balbir Singh and Ranbir Kapoor's Ranvijay Singh, set against the backdrop of crime and the underworld. The film features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead opposite Ranbir, with Bobby Deol playing the primary antagonist. Notable additions to the cast include Shakti Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Prithviraj, and Siddhant Karnick.

On Wednesday, the complete track of Bobby Deol's entry song "Jamal Kudu" from "Animal" was released online. T-series, the production house, announced the release on Instagram, saying, "Let the celebrations begin. Abrar's Entry Jamal Kudu song out now. Dance away." According to reports, the song is a remake of the Iranian track "Jamaal Jamaaloo."
