A rare, beautiful fish known as Opah, washed ashore the coast of the Oregon which is located in the US, as per the aquarium officials this is a rare occurrence in the category of marine animals. The Opah is also known as a Moonfish, size is 3.5-foot-long, weighed about 45 kilograms and was found on Sunset Beach in Seashore. On a Facebook post, the Seaside Aquarium stated that, it was “rare to the Oregon Coast”. After watching a glimpse of the fish, they quickly responded and covered it before the birds could find it. Visitors were promoted to take a look at the unusual fish.

The aquarium stated that, it will be “frozen until the school year starts”. The post has gone viral with more than 19,000 shares so far. The aquarium added that “one lucky school group will get the chance to dissect this large fish” in collaboration with a local organization, the Columbia River Maritime Museum, to get more data about the species.

Officials shared some pictures of the Opah, and also learned that it can grow as long as 6 feet and weigh over 600 pounds (roughly 272 kilograms). The marine species is oval cum round and flat, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) stated on social media and also added on their statement that, “Their fins and mouth are red, and their large eyes are encircled with gold.” “What a beautiful species. So sad this one was found dead. Such amazing colors. Does belong in an aquarium for all to appreciate its beauty,” commented Debra Teshara Marrone on the post.  The general manager of Seaside Aquarium, Keith Chandler, stated to the sources that, he believed the fish had been on the shore for less than an hour before the aquarium's team removed it, away from birds.
