Rashtriya Loktantrik Party Quits NDA Over Farm Laws.

BJP ally RLP quits NDA over farm laws.

Rajasthan based Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) which is an  National Democratic Alliance (NDA) constituent has come out in support of the farmers’ protests against the farm laws introduced by the center earlier this year. This is the second ally of the BJP after the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) came out in support of the protesting farmers.

The RLP led by Hanuman Beniwal a Lok Sabha MP from Rajasthan’s Nagaur said “We won’t stand with anyone who is against the farmers” while he was addressing the protestors at the Shahjahanpur-Kheda border in Rajhathan’s Alwar district. The RLP was launched by Mr Beniwal in Rajasthan after quitting the BJP before the 2018 state elections but ahead of the 2019 general elections the RLP allied with the BJP. In recent times the RLP has been critical of the farm laws and has extended its support to the farmers’ movement.

Among the high profile exits of the Shiv Sena last year and the Akali Dal which called quits in September after facing backlash from farmers the RLP is the latest member of the NDA to exit the alliance
