Reah Chakraborty Filed An FIR Against Sushant’s Sister

Sushant's Sister Under Remand

It was on September 7 when Rhea Chakraborty, who has been accused of abetting Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide by actor's family, had reached out to the Mumbai Police to level charges against Sushant's sisters. In her FIR, Rhea cited that Sushant passed away five days after he obtained a prescription wherein he was 'unlawfully prescribed certain drugs by his sisters and a doctor of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital'.  She claimed that the 'unsupervised medicines' may have resulted into a 'chronic anxiety attack that led to Rajput's suicide'. A case was registered against Sushant's sisters Priyanka Singh, Meetu Singh, Delhi-based doctor Tarun Kumar, among others.

While Rhea is currently in judicial custody over alleged drug links in connection with SSR's death, her case against Sushant's family is being probed by Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI). Mumbai Police Commissioner, Param Bir Singh, in his latest statement, confirmed that while allowing the transfer of the death case to CBI, the Supreme Court had also authorised the Mumbai police to investigate the matter further.

"Accordingly, an FIR was registered against Sushant's sister and doctor based on Rhea's complaint that they gave him medicines without any medical prescription. This investigation is also now with the CBI," Singh said in his statement to Mumbai Mirror.

Meanwhile, Rhea's judicial custody ends today. Her brother Showik, Sushant's former manager Samuel Miranda will also be produced before the court along with Rhea and 17 others arrested in the case. Bombay High Court had reserved the bail petition filed by the Chakrabortys after NCB contested their application stating that they were “active members of a drug syndicate” and vowed to go to the roots of the case, an offshoot of probe into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Sushant was found dead at his apartment on June 14.
