"Rename Moon as Hindu Rashtra"

Seer faces backlash for 'Childish' demand

The national head of the All India Hindu Maha Sabha has requested that Moon be proclaimed the "Hindu Sanatan Rashtra" following the successful arrival of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft on the moon.

To designate the Moon a Hindu Rashtriya, Swami Chakrapani Maharaj requested that Prime Minister Narendra Modi pass a resolution in the Parliament on the X platform (previously Twitter).

The seer also suggested that the location of Chandrayaan-3's lunar landing, known as "Shiv Shakti point," be designated as the Hindu Rashtra's capital.

The seer's comment has, however, drawn a lot of criticism on the X platform. To label this plan as juvenile would be the least offensive, a user wrote. This suggestion is non-Hindu and will be labeled as such.

Somebody else said, "Such people are the ones who promote casteism and terrorism in the country; strict action should be taken against them."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received criticism from several MPs for designating the Chandrayaan-3 landing site as a "Shiv Shakti" landmark.

S Somnath, the chairman of ISRO, has advised people not to stir up a fuss over the name "Shiv Shakti," since it fits the landing site.

The ISRO chairman stated that "Shiv Shakti" symbolized a union of a man and a woman, the contribution of women to Isro, and the requirement for developing such a synergy within the organization.
