RIL Moves High Court Over Mobile Tower Vandalism.

Reliance moves court over mobile vandalism

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Monday was trading lower in the share market at 0.58% NSE(National Stock Exchange). The company then pleaded the Punjab & Haryana high court to intervene against the miscreants who are allegedly causing damage to the properties of the RIL’s subsidiary company Jio. In an issued statement it said “The miscreants indulging in vandalism have been instigated and aided by vested interest and our business rivals. Taking advantage of the ongoing farmers’ protest near the national capital these vested interests have launched an incessant, malicious, and motivated vilification campaign against Reliance which has absolutely no basis in truth.”

RIL has completely denied having any plans to enter into contract farming and also asserted that it has not done this in the past as well. The claims that the company brought agricultural lands directly or indirectly in India for the purpose of contract or corporate farming have been refuted. It said “RIL has never entered into long term procurement contracts to gain unfair advantages over farmers or sought that its suppliers do not buy from the farmers at less than remunerative prices, nor will it ever do so.”

After the reports of the Jio mobile numbers being ported into its rival, RIL issued a media statement and in Punjab and Haryana many shopkeepers have stopped selling recharges and SIM cards of Jio. After the introduction of the 3 controversial farm laws by the government, Jio has been facing the ire of the farmers protesting at the Delhi borders as they believe that some parts of the laws are in favour of the business group particularly the RIL group and the Adani Group. The farmers have been calling to boycott all services by Jio and the Adani Group as a result of this perception.
