Russian government has released new history textbooks to "convince" school going children about their actions against their neighbouring country Ukraine.

As kids prepare to go to school again in Russia, the news is that Kremlin has released a new history textbook that praises Russian military's work against Ukraine.
With the on-going Russia-Ukraine war, the new history textbook aims at "convincing" school children about Russia's actions against Ukraine and their history.
Talking about the books at a press conference, Russian Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov said that the book aims to “demilitarisation and de-nazification, so that schoolchildren are convinced that this is really the case.”
He further added that bigger changes will be made in the book once Russia wins the war against Ukraine. “After the end of the special military operation (in Ukraine), after our victory, we will further supplement this book,” he said.
Schools in Russia are open from September 1 till the end of May. The new history textbooks were written in five months, just ahead of the schools' reopening.
The new history books feature Russia’s bridge that connects the mainland to Crimea, which symbolises Russian President Vladimir Putin’s leadership.
It also has portions about the Russian soldiers' works to preserve peace in 2014, which coincides with Crimea's annexation from Ukraine.
The book also condemns Western sanctions, as it compares them to Napoleon's actions in 1812 invasion of Russia.
