Sabarimala Temple Reopens For Devotees

15,000 devotees permitted for virtual darshan!


One of the most attractive places in Kerala is all set to open from today. Sabarimala temple is Reopened for devotees.

 

Kerala's popular Sabarimala temple will be reopened for the five-day pooja for the Malayalam month of Kumbham from Saturday.

 

The revered Sabarimala temple is dedicated to Lord The Lord Ayyappa.

 

As per the information, A total of 15,000 devotees will be allowed in for darshan via the virtual queue system during the five-day pooja.

 

Permission is granted only for those producing the Covid-19 negative certificate after the RT-PCR test or those who had received two doses of vaccine will be permitted entry to the temple.

 

The temple will be closed after the completion of the monthly pujas by February 17 night.

 

According to the statement given by the temple trust, Melsanthi Paramewaran Nampoothiri will open the Sreekovil (sanctum sanctorum) of the temple at 5.30 pm in the presence of Thantri Mahesh Mohanaru. No ritual will be performed at the temple on the day. 

 

The Sabarimala temple is located at Sabarimala hill inside the Periyar Tiger Reserve in the Perinad Village of the Pathanamthitta district, Kerala, India.

 

It is one of the largest annual pilgrimage sites in the world with an estimate of over 40 to 50 million devotees visiting every year.

 

This temple is dedicated to a Hindu Brahmachari (Celibate) deity Ayyappan also known as Dharma Shasta, who according to belief is the son of Shiva and Mohini, the feminine incarnation of Vishnu.

 

The traditions of Sabarimala are a confluence of Shaivism, Vaishnavism, and other Srama?a traditions.
