Sabyasachi Mukherjee has designed the latest block print school uniform for a girls school in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

They shared the picture on Instagram of students from Rajkumari Nanavati girls school. The kids were looking elegant in the block print dress. The dress included a blue knee-length dress with a round neck, three-quarter sleeves and smart elastic waist pants.

One of the attention-grabbing work on the dress is " Ajrak work" over the uniform around the skirt and the sleeves.

LET'S TALK ABOUT AJRAK WORK.

This work was practised in the Khatri community and Ajrak is a block-printed textile that is dyed using some natural dyes. Indigo is the key dye, this work is famous in Rajasthan as well as Gujarat, Ajrak products are usually made up of  natural and mineral dye and it takes a lot of patience to work on it and  around 14 to 21 days to complete

According to the statement mentioned in the official website, it said, the School has been set up under the initiative by. (CITTA) and is an NPO ( non-profit organisation) and it aims to provide a base for women's skill-building.

Sabyasachi mentioned on Instagram about, " I have always believed in the transformative power of education and they were thrilled by the Michael darlee - American artist, founder of the school, who ordered for designing and Sabyasachi said that while designing they were trying to reflect the religious craft Heritage with the hopes that it would highlight for the young girls and beauty power as well as a better sense of community, pride and connection for their home.

The school is officially going to get started from December 2020.
