Salman Khan On Farmers’ Protest

Salman Khan reacts to farmers’ protest

Actor Salman Khan on Thursday faced a question on farmers’ protest a day after many of his colleagues from bollywood led a government-backed pushback against international tweets that took the two month long farmers’ protest in Delhi borders to a world stage. The actor briefly replied to a question at the launch of a music show in Mumbai and said “The right thing should be done. The most correct thing should be done. The most noble thing should be done.”

Since November last year, farmers from the states of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh mainly have been camping at various borders of Delhi demanding the 3 farm laws introduced by the central government to be repealed as they say that the 3 farm laws will leave then monly in the mercy of the corporate.

After holding multiple rounds of talks with various farmer union leaders the government had failed to end the protests. In a crackdown that escalated after the clashes in Delhi on January 26 between the protestors and the Delhi police, the government has made efforts to have them removed or have cut off their access to information and their supporters. Internet shutdowns, barbed wires, road spikes and images of concrete walls have now drawn global attention on the farmers protest.
