Saudi Arabia will reopen land, sea and air links with Qatar, After almost three years,

Saudi Arabia has decided to reopen land, sea and air links with Qatar in order to recede the feud. The Kuwait government that has been trying to mediate the dispute, said that the links will be opened on Monday evening. Kuwait's state news agency made the announcement a day before the annual summit of Persian Gulf states to be hosted by Saudi Arabia.

As per the official Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said on Monday that the summit's aim was to reunify in order to face challenges in the region. In 2017, a group of Arab countries- United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt led by Saudi Arabia had cut links and imposed an economic blockade on Qatar. Saudi Arabia and its allies had put forward 13 demands to end the blockade including shutting down the news channel Al Jazeera and de-escalate ties with Iran.

Saudi Arabia and its ally countries will sign an agreement to end the dispute with Qatar at the summit on Tuesday, a senior Trump administration official told Reuters news agency. UAE had disagreed with the agreement but Saudi Arabia was in favour of it as It did not want this issue to continue when soon President- elect Biden will be taking office, a source said.

The dispute had complicated the lives of people and created tension among Gulf countries. It is still uncertain whether the agreement will end the tension between them.
