School-colleges closed in Delhi

School closed in the capital; exam cannot be conducted


In view of the increasing cases of Covid-19, the Delhi government has ordered the closure of all schools in the capital. On Friday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted on twitter, "Due to rising cases of Covid, all government and private schools in Delhi are being closed for all classes till further orders".  Delhi's Education Director Udit Prakash Rai issued a circular saying that no school will call any student of any class for any academic and examination activity. The schools in Delhi were opened for class 10th and 12th from January and from 9th and 11th February.

Coronavirus cases in Delhi are increasing once again. In many schools, students and staff have also turned Corona positive. Parents were demanding the Delhi government to close all the schools. On Friday, the Education Director of Delhi issued a circular saying that in view of Covid-19, all the schools for the four classes from class 9 to 12 have been closed with immediate effect till further orders. In this circular, the Directorate of Education has told the head of all government, government aided and private schools that all the activities of schools in physical mode will be closed and they will be able to provide any practical, midterm exam, do not call the school for annual examinations or any work related to it, project submission and evaluation of any kind. However, teaching-learning will continue in the online mode.

After a long break from March last year, all government and private schools in Delhi were opened from January 18 for Class-10 and 12 and from February 5 for Class-9 and 11. Following the guidelines of Covid-19 in schools and with the consent of the parents, students were being called for practice, practical and examinations. But since last month, there have been cases of students and staff getting infected with the corona virus in some schools. Parents were demanding the government to close the school. Saying that they are sending children to school under compulsion and school pressure.
