School, colleges closed in Delhi - NCR

Due to increment in pollution level


 On Tuesday, the commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in the National capital region ordered schools and colleges to remain closed. As per the CAQM order, it ordered all the construction activities to halt till November 21, except metro, Railways, airport and National security defence activities.

 

As per the order, all truck entry has been banned, except Essential services. It is also advised to Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh Government and private firms to allow at least 50 % of staff to work from home.

 

The statement came into the limelight after the increment in pollution level. Also, the Delhi government has directed to procure CNG buses in the capital city. Authorities have also asked the locals to ensure no diesel and petrol vehicles older than 10 and 15 years.

 

The pollution level in the capital city is moving out of control whereas schools, colleges and other educational institutions are opting to shut down offline options. Also, the construction works have been stopped to curb the pollution level.

 

The Delhi government is running several initiatives to curb the pollution level.  The capital city and nearby cities such as Uttar Pradesh, Haryana are facing an incessant rise in their pollution level. Initiatives such as red light on Gadi off are running in the city, also smog towers and pollution control rooms are working constantly to curb the pollution of the capital city.
