Schools and Cinemas to reopen from 15th Oct says : Ministry of Home Affairs

Schools, institutions and cinema halls to be re-open from 15th October in Unlock 5 says the Ministry of Home Affairs.


The access to schools, institutions and cinema halls were closed from the beginning of the
COVID-19 spread in India. The Ministry of Home Affairs has allowed access to the schools and cinema
halls in the "Unlock 5" on Wednesday 30th September.
India has become the 2nd largest country to have maximum no. of COVID cases with almost 6,287,238.
The Govt. of India has also extended the lockdown till 31st October 2020 nationwide. The guidelines will
be active from 1st October and most of the public convenience was resumed in Unlock 4 such as gym,
rail metro and religion places.
In this unlock, there are some fewer restrictions but the local administrations will rely on the strict
routine in the contaminated zones.
There will be many changes and ease from 15th October 2020 during the unlock 5 outside the
contaminated zones.
1) Cinemas, theatres and multiplex can be accessed with an allowance of 50% of seating capacity, for
which SOP will be issued by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
2) B2B exhibitions are permitted.
3) Swimming pools are accessible for sportspersons in the SOP.
4) Entertainment parks are permitted.
5) Opening of Schools, colleges, educational institutions and coaching institutions. Still, The ministry
stated that for re-opening of schools and coaching institutions, State/ UT Governments given the
flexibility to decide after 15th October 2020, in a graded manner.
Still, online/distance learning is preferable and shall be encouraged in schools and colleges. However,
some students prefer to attend online classes rather of going physically.
