Maharashtra Witnesses Decline in Covid cases


The harsh hit of the Deadly virus has led to the closure of schools, colleges, and educational institutions all across the Country. Witnessing a downfall in the Covid cases, the Schools in Maharashtra are to be reopened from Monday.


According to the statement given by Maharashtra education minister, Varsha Gaikwad said, the school will be reopened from next week, all schools have to ensure COVID protocols are in place.

 

She said, from 24 January we will be reopening schools for classes 1-12th with Covid protocols; CM has agreed to our proposal, she said to ANI. 


Additionally, she said, "After Covid rose, the government decided not to continue with the school (offline) sessions. But after discussion with the experts, it has been decided to start the sessions where the number of cases is low based on the local Covid-19 situation."

 

Further said, "A proposal has been sent to the Chief Minister. It states the reopening of schools should be considered from Monday and all the power to do so should be given to the local authorities, municipal Commissioners, district collectors, chief executive officers, education officials." 

 

The Minister also urged the teaching and non-teaching staff to get inoculated with vaccine doses.


The online mode of education has made students lethargic and slow. Maharashtra was among the hotbeds for COVID. Witnessing a surge in cases and on the other hand it gradually witnesses a downfall at a fast pace.

 

Earlier, the Maharashtra government announced the closure of schools till February 15. With the decline in cases of COVID, the decision has been taken to return back to the normal schedule.
