Schools reopen in Gurugram

Students of classes 9 to 12 are allowed to attend physical classes on the campus with the consent of their parents


It has been more than a year since schools were shut in view of prevailing Covid-19 situation in the country and classes were being conducted in online mode. On 16 th July Haryana Government had decided to open the schools as the number of Covid-19 cases had decreased. Whereas schools in Gurugram are reopening in a phased manner to limit human contact between the students and the teachers. Meanwhile, the offline classes have only been resumed for the senior classes.

According to the statement given by the Government, students of classes 9 to 12 are allowed to attend physical classes on the campus with the consent of their parents. The students of classes 6 to 8 will be allowed in school for physical classes from July 26.

The attendance of students remained low on the first day of the resumption of classes. The teachers welcomed the students with joy by blessing them and marking their foreheads with the traditional Tilak for the very first time whereas attendance is not mandatory for offline classes.

Meanwhile, schools have been asked to maintain proper distancing and follow appropriate Covid-19 behaviour and follow precautions.
