Schools to reopen in Odisha for students of class 8, 11

On Friday, the Odisha government announced that the classes will start from October 21.


The covid-19 situation had led to the closure of schools, colleges, educational institutions as well as all public gatherings to stop the spread of the deadly virus. The Covid-19 scenario was horrific across the country. For more than the last two years, students are taking their educational classes in online mode which is very difficult to manage as well as to understand. 

After witnessing a slow down in cases, few states are issuing their standard operating procedures and reopening the schools. Meanwhile, the schools in Odisha will be reopened for the students of classes 8 and 11. On Friday the Odisha government announced that the classes will start from October 21.

As per the information, the Odisha government also mentioned that no decision has been taken yet for the reopening of schools for junior classes that is, classes 1 to 7. 

As per the statement given to PTI, SR Dash, school and mass education minister said, "The Covid-19 situation is improving in the state. We will resume classroom teaching for students of classes 8 and 11 from October 21. A notification will be issued soon," said the minister.
