Serial Killer in Gurugram Arrested

A 22-year-old serial criminal was arrested in Gurugram for reportedly murdering three people


A 22-year-old serial criminal was arrested  in Gurugram for reportedly murdering three people on three consecutive nights. Police stated that the killer disclosed that he killed the strangers as he wanted to show the world what he can do. The offender has been known as Mohammad Raj and is a resident of Bihar. On Thursday, he was arrested near IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram. Police reported that the accused, Razi, during questioning confirmed that he committed three murders back to back on 23, 24 and 25 November. When the police asked about the motive's behind the murder then he stated that he killed strangers as he enjoyed committing the crimes and he wanted to show world what he is capable of. 

According to police, the accused would allegedly tempt the victims into drinking alcohol and would then murder them. The first incident happened on  November 23, the accused had allegedly stabbed a man to death in Leisure Valley Park in Gurugram. The next day on November 24, the accused went on to commit another murder and stabbed a security guard to death in Gurugram's Sector 40. On November 25, he beheaded his third victim identified as 26-year-old Rakesh Kumar. 

The body of Rakesh Kumar was found in Gurugram's Sector 47 which was in decapitated position and beheaded. Police stated that they were able to  recover the victim’s head only after Razi's arrest, who had detached the head from the body and threw it near a deserted area in Kanhai village in Sector 40. During the interrogation Razi stated that "I did not understand anything since childhood. Everyone used to say that you are so weak and what would you be able to do. I just thought that I wanted to show the world what I can do". 

The police had scanned footage of approx 250 to 300 CCTV cameras to identify the accused and arrest him. Police stated that the accused may have been involved in at least 10 murders in Delhi, Gurugram and Bihar and further probe is underway.
