Severe Spike in Delhi Air Pollution

Warns Expert!

Ahead of the upcoming festivals of Diwali, and the arrival of winter season. The capital city surges up with incessant pollution levels in the city.

The pollution level of the city creates a choked environment along with it creates a suffocating environment for the people.

According to the state given by, Abhishek Anand: Dr Ravi Kant Pathak, a scientist and professor at University of Gothernburg, Sweden, has warned that in Delhi pollution levels are likely to rise once the stubble burning, that was delayed due to rain, begins in neighbouring Punjab and Haryana.

A group of scientists and researchers from various countries gathered at IIT Delhi to anticipate the spike in pollution levels and said farmers will begin stubble burning simultaneously, sending harmful pollutants into the air.

"It is estimated that a rise of 30-70 per cent in pollution levels can be witnessed in Delhi -NCR in coming days as the next crop season is approaching fast and the farmers will burn the stubble as soon as it dries. The pollution levels can vary on wind speed and direction," Dr Pathak said.

Dr Pathak said that metres have recorded a spike in pollution levels at Hamirpur in UP, which is very far from Punjab and Haryana where most of the stubble burning takes place.
