Shah Rukh Khan's security has been increased to Y+ due to death threats

After the release of 'Jawan'

The police in Maharashtra have given extra security protection to the famous Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan because they believe there are serious threats to his safety. This decision was announced on Monday.

The Y+ security includes 11 security personnel, including six commandos, and a police escort vehicle.

Mr. Khan, who is 57 years old, has been receiving threats following the release of his latest movie, "Jawan," according to the official.

This security protection is provided on a payment basis, meaning Khan will have to cover the costs for his security, as per the official.

The decision to increase Khan's security was made last week during a high-level committee meeting where the security arrangements were reviewed, the official explained.

The State Intelligence Department has informed all police commissionerates, superintendent offices, and the Special Protection Unit about this decision, as mentioned by the official.

In the previous year, there was a controversy surrounding the song "Besharam Rang" from Mr. Khan's movie "Pathaan," during which a religious leader from Ayodhya had threatened the actor.

Back in 2010, Mr. Khan's security was increased due to threats he received concerning the release of his movie "My Name Is Khan."
