Shirdi Sai temple to reopen from tomorrow; new guidelines issued

A maximum of 15,000 devotees are to be allowed in the Shirdi temple per day and for Shani Shingnapur 20,000 are permitted.


Maharashtra was one of the worst hit states with Covid-19. The state witnessed a constant increase in Covid-19 cases, which led to the closure of schools, colleges and religious places.

After witnessing less number of Covid-19 cases in the state, the situation is returning to normal. The state has opened its schools, whereas religious places Shirdi Sai baba temple and Shani Shingnapur temple will reopen from tomorrow (7th Oct). A new guideline has also been issued keeping in view the deadly virus.

As per the guideline, Rajendra B Bhosale Ahmednagar district collector said that a maximum of 15,000 devotees are to be allowed in the Shirdi temple per day and for Shani Shingnapur 20,000 are permitted. The guidelines also state that a maximum of 90 devotees are permitted for aarti.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday Maharashtra reported 2,401 Covid-19 cases and 39 deaths, which took the overall infection tally to 65,64,915  and toll to 1,32,272, said the health department official.
