Sikkim allows entry of fully vaccinated tourists to the state

Sikkim allows entry of fully vaccinated tourists to the state who have taken both doses of Covid-19 vaccine.


On Sunday, the Sikkim Government issued a new Guidelines stating that, it allows the entry of the tourists to the state only if fully vaccinated. The visitors should be fully vaccinated and must have taken both the doses of Covid-19 vaccine.

According to the statement given by Sikkim Government "fully vaccinated  tourists can enter the Himalayan state through Rangpo in East Sikkim and Mellu in South Sikkim after exhibiting their vaccination certificates at the border check-gates. Adding that it also said that  the authorities of the hotels, guest houses and homestays to operate at 50 percent capacity from today with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols. 

Meanwhile, the new guidelines also state that:

•Shopping malls, showrooms, and shops have been allowed to open in the state with full capacity and strict Covid-19 guidelines. 

•Government offices can function with fully vaccinated employees,while the staffers who have not yet received both the jabs can work with the present arrangement of 50 percent attendance. 

•Factories and commercial establishments can operate at 100 percent capacity, if fully vaccinated. 

According to the health bulletin, on Sunday, the state recorded New 176 Covid-19 cases and the death toll remained unchanged at 308 as no new fatality was reported. Whereas the recovery rate stands at 87.4 per cent.
