Sisters apprehended for allegedly stabbing store security guard 27 times.

The sisters were told to wear masks and use hand sanitizer at a store in Chicago.

Jessica Hill, 21, and her sister, Jayla Hill, 18, tried to walk into a shoe store in Chicago without their masks on, on Sunday. A security guard asked the sister to put on their face masks and use store provided hand sanitizer. As both refused, initially got into a verbal altercation with guard with later turned violent, when one sister allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the guard multiple times in the back, neck and arms, according Chicago Police Department.

The guard somehow managed to escape and helped keep the sisters in the store until police arrested them. The 32-year-old victim was hospitalized at Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition but now he is in stable condition. Meanwhile, the sisters were arrested and treated at a nearby hospital for minor injuries.

“It’s the complete randomness of this. It’s terrifying. This is just too random and quickly escalating. I can’t fashion conditions that would protect the community,” Judge Mary Marubio said Tuesday before ordering the siblings held without bail on attempted murder charges.

The stabbing was self-defense, sister’s court appointed attorney said during a bond hearing on Tuesday. Both women suffered from a bipolar disorder, according their lawyers.

Jail records show they are currently being held without any affiliation. The next court hearing is scheduled for November 4, for the accuse, according to jail records. It is not clear who is representing them at this time.
