Sixth Round of talks delayed, rescheduled for Wednesday

Farmers meet postponed for 9 December


During the last round of talks between the government and protesting farmers in Delhi, the farmers' representatives questioned the Centre to give a point-wise reply in written form of the last meeting, which the government agreed. On the other hand , during the talks at Vigyan Bhawan, farmers allegedly that they need a solution or commitment for the same. Farm leaders have said that they will end their protests only after the government promises a "complete rollback" of the of farm laws. The government, during the meeting, stated that it needs more time for internal discussion about issues  related to farmers . It stated that they have come up with a farmers proposal for the meet which will take place on December 9

Couple of hours before the meet, some ministers met the Prime Minister at his residence to discuss about the amendments in the the farms-laws. The ministers included  Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, sources say. Junior Agriculture Minister Kailash Choudhary Stated that "Farmers' doubts will be cleared in today's meeting with the Centre. Opposition is instigating the protesters. We expect farmers will roll back protest," said earlier today.

The farmers have called for a nationwide strike on Tuesday 8 December, they will allegedly block the entry points to the capital and occupy all the highway toll gates according to reports.
