SpiceJet makes passengers wait for 8hr then canceled flight...

Flyers had to wait from 8pm to 4.30 am

SpiceJet flight bound from Pune to Ahmedabad got cancelled after an 8 hr delay leaving passenger stranded and disappointed on Thursday.  The flight was scheduled for take-off at 8pm on Wednesday, but technical issues kept it grounded for eight-and-a-half hours, forcing the flyers to sleep out the night at Pune’s airport terminal. The plane took at 4.30 am on Thursday but returned within 10 mins due to technical issues resulting to the flight being cancelled.

More than 20 passengers were left stranded and some had to miss the planned arrangements of the future because of the mishap. One passenger named Bakul Pandey said that he and his wife had checked in by 6 pm on Wednesday.

He said “The airline’s ground staff told us that the flight was delayed by four hours due to a technical reason and would depart at 12.30am. Around midnight, they said the aircraft would take off around 3.30am, which soon became 4.30am.” He also mentioned that his wife had a train ticket scheduled to Bhopal from Ahmedabad on Thursday but had to miss it.

Another passenger accused the airline for being transparent and honest with the details. They kept information from them and kept delaying the flight. A SpiceJet spokesperson explained that the flight returned to Pune due to a technical issue and it made a normal landing. “Earlier, the flight’s scheduled departure was revised, and passengers were duly informed beforehand at 4.35pm, so that they could plan their travel to the airport accordingly. A majority of passengers were accommodated on alternative flights on Thursday, while some opted for a full refund.”
