Supreme Court Dismisses Petition Against Farooq Abdullah

Petition filed against Farooq Abdullah dismissed by SC

Dismissing a petition against Jammu Kashmir MP Farooq Abdullah today the Supreme Court said “expression of view which are dissent and different from the government opinion cannot be termed as seditious.”

The petitioner said that the Supreme Court has failed to uphold his allegations that Farroq Abdullah had looked for the help of China and Pakistan against India on Article 370 on special status of Jammu Kashmir which was scrapped in August 2019. An amount of 50000 rupees was fined on the petitioner.

The petition against the National Congress Leader is linked to his comments protesting against the move of the center to end special status to Jammu Kashmir under Article 370.
