SUV collided with a school bus

On Delhi-Meerut Expressway...


The SUV travelling collided with a private bus Six people, including three minors, from the same family were killed and two injured in Ghaziabad’s Crossing Republik area on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway on Tuesday.

Police said the deceased were residents of Dhanpur village of Meerut.

The two injured persons, who were also in the Mahindra TUV car, were admitted to SJM hospital in Chhijarsi, Noida, in a serious condition, police said.

The driver of the bus, Prempal, a resident of Bijauli in Aligarh district, has been arrested.

The deceased have been identified as Narendra Yadav (45), his wife Anita (42), their two children Deepanshu (17) and Himanshu (14), Narendra’s sister-in-law Babita (37), and her daughter Vanshika (8). Babita’s husband Dharmendra (40) and son Kartik (6) are in the hospital.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic said, “Around 6.30 am, a four-wheeler coming in the right direction from Meerut over Baharampur Rahul Vihar underpass was hit hard by the bus.

The accident was so severe that six people in the car died on the spot.

The family was going from Meerut to Gurgaon to pick up their sister. From there, they had to leave for Khatu Shyam (temple in Rajasthan’s Sikar district).”

An FIR under IPC sections 304 (Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 308 (Attempt to commit culpable homicide) and 427 (Mischief) has been registered against the driver.
