Sweep Road for an hour if caught without a mask
According to the Brihanmumbai municipal corporation (BMC), the one who plans to violate community services have to perform activities like sweeping Road for an hour or cleaning Graffiti if they argue against or refuse to pay the fine of amount rupees 200 for not wearing Mask in public places. This punishment will be implemented as per BMC solid waste management by-laws which give its powers to have citizens to do community services for spitting on the road for not wearing Masks in public places.
According to an official, it said that Police cases will be lodged against those violators who refuse the community services while they refused to pay the amount of rupees 200 for not wearing the mask and that made them introduce the concept of community service.
According to Kakani, said that, besides community services including sweeping Road they will also file cases against violated with the place at the same time and said that " we are using all means to spread the message on wearing a mask and public place is the BMC has been using social media and holding both increased awareness over the importance of wearing Mask in public places in the spread of covid-19 pandemic as well as the ongoing festivals".
The BMC has launched a drive to make people aware of wearing masks in public places. Around 40,000 citizens were analyzed on the 1st of the drive as many as 60,000 were analysed for not wearing the mask for the past 10 days.
