Taliban Seeks For Help Amid Earthquake In Afghanistan

Afghanistan is scuffling with massive earthquake tremors!


Senior Official Anas Haqqani of the new Taliban government in the country appealed for transnational aid.

Haqqani added, “The government is working under its capabilities. We hope that the International Community and several other Aid Agencies will also help our people of Afghanistan in this dire situation of extremity.”

The earthquake, according to officers, measured 5.9 on the Richter Scale. It hit the country overnight by Tuesday causing large scale damage.

The Taliban functionary said the earthquake had killed at least 1000 people and wounded further than 1500 people.

He further added how the temblors had caused” personal and fiscal losses to the people of Paktika and Khost”.

The eastern and south-eastern provinces of the country. Secretary General of the United Nations- Antonio Guterres blatted how the UN Body was completely” mobilised” as casualties due the temblors felt have continued to mount.

Hence, they would be setting exigency trauma care and other critical services in the areas hard- hit by the earthquake.

Afghanistan’s supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada advised that the casualties could rise indeed more if the deliverance brigades do not start operating soon, especially in remote areas.

The US Geological Survey (USGC) said the earthquake epicentered 44 km down from Khost, near the Pakistan border.

European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported the important earthquake swells was felt in Pakistan, Afghanistan and India.

UN’s humanitarian coordinator for Afghanistan Ramiz Alakbarov said nearly, thousands of homes were destroyed due to the earthquake.
