Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin meets Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi in Delhi

M K Stalin also met Prime MInister Narendra Modi on Thursday and submitted a memorandum of 25 demands.


Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief MK Stalin met Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Friday. This was his first meeting with the alliance partner Congress since the DMK came to power in the state assembly elections. Mr Stalin concluded his two-day visit to the national capital by meeting the Congress leaders along with his wife Durgavathy Stalin. He also presented a copy of the book “Journey of a Civilization: Indus to Vaigai” to Sonia Gandhi. Rahul tweeted about the meeting on his Twitter handle alongwith a photo. "We will keep working with the DMK to build a strong and prosperous state for the Tamil people," he wrote. Mr Stalin also met Prime MInister Narendra Modi on Thursday and submitted a memorandum of 25 demands. It included issues such as shortage of vaccine in the state, GST dues, more rights for Sri Lankan Tamils and repeal of three agricultural laws as well as the scrapping of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
