Tamil Nadu policeman brutally thrashing a Zomato delivery person. The incident occurred in Srivilliputhur of Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar district.
Venkatesh, a Zomato delivery person, was brutally thrashed by Dharmaraj, a traffic Sub Inspector, in the presence of the public. The ordeal was recorded by onlookers and the video has gone viral.
In the video, Venkatesh is seen holding Dharmaraj's shoulder patch, and Dharmaraj immediately attacks Venkatesh and begins to brutally thrash him.
The police have filed a case against Venkatesh claiming that he pulled out a knife and tried to threaten the police.
However, the video shows an argument between Venkatesh and police officer Dharmaraj over an Rs600 fine. The fine was imposed as Venkatesh did not have the required vehicle documents.
Worried passersby even pleaded with Dharmaraj to stop hitting Venkatesh, but he didn't stop. Finally, a few other police came to help, and Venkatesh is seen being taken to the police.
Srivilliputhur police said that Venkatesh threatened Dharmaraj with a knife and have registered a case under sections 294 (b), 353, 307, and 506 (2).
