Teacher Elopes With Class XI Boy Booked

Under Pocso Act After Return

A 32-year-old teacher, who ran away to Coimbatore with a Class XI boy from her school near Sholinganallur, has been charged under the Pocso Act. Both individuals have been returned to Chennai, and an investigation is underway.

Authorities mentioned that Angel (name changed) worked as an English teacher at a private school in Sholinganallur.

Having parted ways with her husband a few years back, she developed a friendship with a 17-year-old boy in her school more recently.

On Tuesday, when the boy didn't come home from school, his parents inquired with his teachers and were surprised to learn that he had been absent that day.

Following their complaint, the Thalambur police registered a case and initiated an investigation. Inquiries uncovered that Angel was also absent on Tuesday, and both their mobile locations were traced to Karamadai in Coimbatore.

Police quickly responded to the situation, securing both individuals. Angel explained that they were in Karamadai for a tour. She was subsequently charged under the Pocso Act by an all-women police station, and both were sent for a medical check-up, as reported by the police.
