Boy arrested for raping and impregnating his 13-year-old sister!

A 17-year-old boy was arrested by police for allegedly raping his 13-year-old sister multiple times in the last two years and impregnating her. The incident took place in the Bachupally area of Cyberabad Commissionerate in the city.

“The boy was arrested and taken to a juvenile court. The girl was taken for a medical examination and treatment. Further investigation is underway,” said K Narsimha Reddy, Inspector, Bachupally.

According to the police, the boy is a class 12 student and the girl is a class IX student. Their parents are working in private companies in the city. The victim did not reveal it to her parents fearing her brother.

The incident came into light when the victim informed her mother about missing her periods for the last few months. She was then taken to a hospital in Gachibowli where she was found 18 weeks pregnant.

Following this, the girl told her mother that she had been raped by her brother repeatedly. Her mother then took her to another private hospital in Secunderabad for termination of the pregnancy but the doctors advised her to approach the child-line. Through child-line, the girl was shifted to Bharosa Centre in the city.

After counselling, the girl along with her parents were produced before the Child Welfare Committee.

At least five rape cases were registered every day in Delhi, last year as cases of crimes against women saw an upward tick, according to the Delhi Police statistics.

Delhi Police said there’s an increase of 21.6 % in rape cases with 1,969 cases registered last year as compared to the 1,618 cases in 2020.
