Tejas Express delayed, IRCTC to pay 4 lakh rupees compensation

Tejas Express which is India's first private train was delayed on Saturday and Sunday by 2.5 hours after which IRCTC will pay a compensation of rupees 4 Lakh to 2,035 passengers. Talking about this train which provides services like flight, ran between Delhi and Lucknow in August 2019.

For the first time in two years, IRCTC has to pay such a huge sum for the delay in train services. Whereas IRCTC claims that the train has managed to have no delays 99.9 percent of the time and so far there have only been complaints about five times of delays of less than an hour.

Earlier, Tejas Express was delayed during the winter season due to foggy weather and more than one and a half passengers were paid compensation for the delay. Meanwhile, Tejas Express was stopped during the Covid-19 second wave due to rise in Covid-19 cases and an increase in infection risk as cases were at the peak. On 7th August the services resumed.
