Terrorist attack averted by Delhi Police’s special unit, arrests two alleged Terrorists

Two alleged terrorists arrested by a special unit of Delhi.


Delhi police have arrested two terror suspects of Jaish-e-Mohammed and foiled a major attack on the national capital on Monday night. The Delhi Special Cell has taken into custody two suspected terrorists from Sarai Kale Khan of Delhi. The two men are now being questioned by the officials regarding the substance and their alleged plan of a terror attack on the Capital. 

Delhi Police officials confirmed that the attack was supposed to occur around 10.15pm on Monday night and according to them the trap was set up near Millennium Park in Sarai Kale Khan. "Two suspected J&K residents were arrested along with two assault rifles," police officials said.

The suspects accused of being members of Jaish-e-Mohammed have been identified as residents of Jammu and Kashmir ; Abdul Latif Mir son of Sanaullah Mir, who lives in Pala Mohalla in Baramulla is 22 years old . While  Mohd. Ashraf Khatana, the son of Bashir Ahmed, is a 20-year-old resident of Hat Mulla village in Kupwara.According to sources, the two suspected terrorists once tried to travel to Kashmir (PoK) in Pakistan, a plan that was checked by the Indian Army. They were planning to flee to PoK via Nepal after the attack on Delhi.

Earlier in August, Delhi police has arrested  an Islamic State terrorist, in  addition to the arrest, police also recovered 15 kg of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from the terrorist arrested in the Dhaula Kuan area
