New Delhi: On Saturday, 23 March 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India strongly condemns the terror attack in Moscow.

It stands in solidarity with the government and the people of Russia in this time of grief.

On Friday evening, Terrorists attacked a large concert hall in Moscow and sprayed the crowd with gunfire, killing more than 60 people, injuring over 100 and setting fire to the venue in a brazen attack.

"We strongly condemn the heinous terrorist attack in Moscow. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims," PM Modi said in a post on social media.

"India stands in solidarity with the government and the people of the Russian Federation in this hour of grief," he added.

Media reports said the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement posted on its affiliated channels on social media.

Russia's Investigative Committee said that more than 60 people are dead after the attack at Crocus City Hall.

More than 100 others were injured.

A fire also started inside Crocus City Hall, a large concert venue northwest of central Moscow.

 

Firefighters have evacuated about 100 people from the basement of the building and efforts are underway to rescue people from the roof, Russian emergency officials said.
