Test, Track, Treat and Tika: PM Modi to states with rising Covid-19 cases.He also said that funds are being made available for new intensive care unit (ICU) beds increasing testing capacity and for all other needs.


On July 16 Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged states where Covid-19 cases are still increasing, to take proactive measures to prevent the third wave of Covid-19  and stressed moving forward with the strategy of Test, Track, Treat and Tika.

While interacting with Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, Kerala, and Maharashtra he said 80 per cent of the New Covid-19 cases last week were from these states. He emphasised and said, rise in cases in Maharashtra and Kerala is a matter of Grave Concern for the Country. Adding further he said, the states where cases are increasing must take proactive measures to prevent any possibility of a third wave,"We have to move forward with our strategy of the test, trick,  treat and tika" and special attention needs to be paid to micro containment zones." said the PM

The Prime Minister also said that funds are being made available for new intensive care unit (ICU) beds increasing testing capacity and for all other needs. Meanwhile, a few days back PM Modi was also told to use proper masks and follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour after looking at the rush of tourist gathering and flouting Covid-19 rules at the hill stations.
