'The Kerala Story' screening ban in Tamil Nadu

Protest held against the release of The Kerala Story in Chennai...

In Tamil Nadu the multiplex theatres have halted the screening of The Kerala Story from today, citing the law and order situation and poor response of the movie.

On Saturday The Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) in Tamil Nadu staged a protest against the release of The Kerala Story in Chennai. The Naam Tamilar Party cadres headed by its organizer, actor and director Seeman started protests in the Chennai Anna Nagar Arch near Skywalk Mall in Chennai against the movie.

Muslim organizations had sought a ban on the film alleging that it made an exaggerated claim that 32,000 Hindu and Christian women in Kerala have converted and got lured into joining the terror organization ISIS.

The film's producers faced criticism for wrongly projecting facts.
