The Ministry of Education has issued guidelines for parents to help children who have remained confined to their homes for long periods during school closure


Studying at home is difficult for many of the children due to which The Ministry of Education has issued guidelines for parents to help children who have remained confined to their homes for long periods during school closure. The guidelines will help in providing information on various aspects of their participation and role in supporting children during school closure.

In the official release, it has been said that the role of parents provides an important role besides school teachers, community, and volunteers is pivotal in supporting home-based learning for their children, in this view, Guidelines for Parent Participation in Home-based Leaming during school closure and beyond have been developed.

Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ took to Twitter and said that he strongly feels home is the first school and parents are the first teachers, and now in pedamic the role of parent's is pivotal in the growth and learning of children.

The guidelines aim in providing the reasons for why, ‘what’, and ‘how-to’ of participation and engagement in supporting children during the school closure irrespective of the literacy levels of parents can be done.

Moreover, it includes simple tips and suggestive activities by the different stages of school education-- Foundation stage, preparatory stage, middle stage, and secondary stage from adolescent to adult age. It also includes the special section as Art as a therapy for children under stress or trauma with parents support with low literacy levels and children with special needs in-home learning.
