"They Tied Up My Husband While I Was Raped" Spanish women

Spanish Biker Attacked by 7 in Dumka Forest

In Dumka/Ranchi, a Spanish woman was gang-raped on Friday night, as stated in the FIR. She reported that all seven offenders took turns assaulting her and her husband, keeping him restrained throughout the ordeal. In a social media video posted on Saturday night, she expressed gratitude for still being alive, fearing for her life during the attack.

On Sunday evening, Dumka police officially declared the arrest of three culprits, with efforts ongoing to apprehend the remaining four. The Jharkhand State Legal Services (JHALSA) and the National Commission for Women (NCW) have both taken notice of the crime, with JHALSA deploying a separate team to provide legal and other support to the survivor. The NCW has requested a comprehensive report, expressing worries about the state of law and order in Jharkhand.

Dumka SP Pitamber Singh Kherwar informed reporters that all three arrested individuals were remanded to judicial custody on Sunday.

"The accused are all from Kunjo and neighboring villages under Hansdiha police station," stated SP Pitamber Singh Kherwar. "Initial investigations suggest they are first-time offenders, but a thorough inquiry is ongoing," he added.

The survivor noted in her FIR that some of the offenders spoke a few English words while approaching them that night. Kherwar stated, "It's possible that some of them had worked as migrant laborers and picked up a few English words. We are investigating their educational and other backgrounds."

The SP mentioned that the woman's statement was recorded before the court of first-class judicial magistrate Sarthak Sharma. He emphasized, "We are committed to building a strong case against the accused to ensure they receive the harshest punishment." Additionally, he confirmed that the woman's medical examination has confirmed gang rape.
