Threatened in Maharashtra drug case witness tries surrendering in UP

On Monday midnight, Kiran Gosavi the private detective of Mumbai who hit the headlines for his infamous selfie with Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan after his arrest by the Narcotics Control Beureau. An audio clip that is now going viral reveals his conversation with the UP police where he says he wants to surrender at Mandiaon Police Station.

DK Thakur, the Lucknow police commissioner told Gosavi that he cannot surrender in Lucknow and said,  “Lucknow police station does not have the Jurisdiction to take any action against him”.

Kiran Gosavi, independent witness in the cruise ship drugs case against whom a lookout notice is out said, he wanted to surrender before the Uttar Pradesh police as he felt threatened in Maharashtra. In the end no surrender took place.

Kiran Gosavi was present during the cruise ship raid as well as later at the NCB office where he took a selfie with Aryan Khan. His presence rose a lot of questions from Maharashtra’s ruling alliance about the anti-drugs agency’s investigation. Later on, a man who claimed to be Gosavi’s bodyguard made allegations of bribery against him. Prakhar Sail who is another witness in the case revealed the telephonic conversation he overheard between Gosavi and some Sam D’Souza.

Sail heard Gosavi asking for a “bomb Rs 25 crore” and then settle at Rs 18 crore, of which Rs 8 crore is for the NCB’s zonal officer who is in charge of the investigation, Sameer Wankhede. These allegations were later denied by Gosavi while speaking to media he said before October 2 he had not met Sameer Wankhede, the NCB officer who is heading the case.
