Tiljala Minor Murder Case Updates

Crime against women and children should be condemned: Shashi Panja

On Sunday, a case was registered regarding the missing case of a 7 year old girl whose body was found in the evening in a suitcase at her neighbor's house in the Tilajala area of Kolkata.

According to the information, the police probed the matter, and after a search, they found a suitcase in the apartment complex of the accused, identified as Alok Kumar, a resident of Bihar, and arrested him immediately and took him to police custody for remand in the incidents.

It further added that the culprit was allegedly planning to kill a girl for some tantrik practise as he had no children from his marriage. The girl was found tied and had suffered head injuries.

The DC of the south-east division of Kolkata, Subhankar Bhattacharya, informed me that the body was sent for a postmortem to confirm that if the girl had been abused.

In response to the incident, West Bengal minister Shashi Panja stated that this is a crime that should not be committed and there is no scope for the BJP to speak about it. It is very unfortunate that we see politics in it, and the crime against children and women should be condemned.
