Tragic Fire in Dhaka Claims 43 Lives

Multiple Injuries Reported

A devastating fire erupted late Thursday night at a six-storey commercial building on Baily Road in Dhaka, claiming the lives of at least 43 individuals.

Health Minister Samanta Lal Sen reported that of the deceased, 33 passed away at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, while 10 succumbed to their injuries at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

He further added that more than 22 individuals, severely burned, are currently battling for their lives.

Approximately 75 individuals, with 42 found unconscious, were rescued from the Green Cozy Cottage Shopping Mall.

According to the Fire Service, the Green Cozy Cottage accommodates the Kacchi Bhai biryani shop, an outlet of retailer Illiyeen, and several other shops.
