Trial Of Vande Bharat Express Begins On Mumbai-Goa route

On Tuesday, the trial of the Vande Bharat Express on the Mumbai-Goa route began, officials informed.

A Vande Bharat Express departed from the 7 number platform of CSMT in Mumbai at 5:30 am and reached Madgaon station in Goa at 12.50 pm.

It departed from Madaon at around 1.15 pm and it is expected to reach CSMT late in the evening.

The train can run at the top speed of 180 kmph.

The trial is being carried out using the rake of CSMT-Shirdi Vande Bharat Express which does not run on Tuesdays.

This Vande Bharat Express will be the fourth semi-high-speed train.

Three Vande Bharat Express trains now operate on the routes Mumbai Central - Ahmedabad - Gandhinagar Capital, Mumbai - Sainagar Shirdi, and Mumbai - Solapur.

The railway authorities are exploring the possibility of operating trains on the Mumbai-Goa route as it witnesses heavy rush in the city, officials were quoted by news agency PTI.
